The new year of the Newport Beach Library book group gets underway on Wednesday, January 14th with Mary Coin by Marisa Silver. Marisa Silver is a bestselling author, who used Dorothea Lange’s Migrant Mother photograph as inspiration for Mary Coin. Set in both 1936 and present day, the story follows Walker Dodge, as discovers a family secret in the old photo. The book club meets the second Wednesday of each month, September through June. The book club is open to the public and is free to participate in. The discussion is lead by participants and the library staff.
