The Crystal Cove Amenities:

The Canyon Club Recreation Center:

The Canyon Club Recreation Center membership is open to all Crystal Cove residents. The club acts as the social hub for Crystal Cove. The Canyon Club has two and half acres of space dedicated to resort style recreational activities and is a part of the gated community. The club employs a full time activities director. Among the amenities the club offers are a Junior Olympic size pool, children’s wading pool, fitness room, basketball court and tennis courts. In addition, there are entertainment areas such as a courtyard, community room, dining terraces, outdoor dining terraces and a catering style kitchen. The club has exceptional views of Abalone Point. Throughout the year there is an active swim team, many fitness classes and children’s play-dates. During the summer months, the Canyon Club offers a summer reading club. There are always new activities to participate in.

Crystal Cove Schools:

Students living within Crystal Cove attend schools in either Laguna Beach Unified School District or the Newport Mesa Unified School District. In addition, there are many private schools located in this area, including Anneliese Schools, Grace Classical Academy, St. Anne School, St. Catherine of Siena Parish and the Montessori School of Laguna Beach.

Laguna Beach is a highly distinguished school district with two elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. The elementary schools are Top of the World Elementary and El Morro Elementary, the middle school is Thurston Middle School, and the high school is Laguna Beach High School. Thurston Middle School has been named a “Model Campus” school, among all California state public schools; this is a very honorable distinction. Laguna Beach High School has the lowest enrollment of any high school in Orange County.

Newport Mesa Unified School District is an award winning school district. The school district has six elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools. Corona del Mar Intermediate and High School is a combination school with a middle school wing and a high school wing.

Crystal Cove Parks:

Ocean Garden: This is a family park with a coral reef theme. There is a water wise succulent garden for exploration.  

Island Garden: This is a perfect park to watch the lovely California sunsets. The park’s theme is the islands of the California Coast. Catalina Island and Can Clemente Islands can be viewed from the park.

Sidney Bay Tot Lot: This Park is perfect for young families with a jungle gym and lots of open space. This is a children’s park.

Reef Point Park: This is a large park made for both families and gathering for picnics and barbeques. There is a designated covered barbeque area in the park. In addition, there is a half basketball court and a playground.

Crystal Cove State Park and Beach: The Crystal Cove State Park and Beach has 3.5 miles of beach and coastline, 18 miles of trails and over 2,400 acres of canyons. The park is home to a 1,400 acre marine park. The Crystal Cove Historical District is located within the park with 48 original California Beach Cottages built between the 1920’s and 1930’s. These cottages are often used in films. There are classes and events held in the park throughout the year. This is an official California State Park.

Shopping and Dining:

Crystal Cove Shopping Center: This shopping center is adjacent to the Crystal Cove residential developments. There are both upscale shopping and fine dining options available at this location. Crystal Cove Shopping Center hosts a summer music series on Thursday evenings. The shopping center is located on East Coast Highway in Newport Beach.

Fashion Island: Fashion Island is the premiere luxury shopping center in Newport Beach. For 50 years, this has been the go to shopping destination in Orange County. The backdrop for this outdoor mall is the Pacific Ocean. Among the upscale shopping options are Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Bloomingdales. Fashion Island is located on Newport Center Drive in Newport Beach.

Corona del Mar Plaza: Corona del Mar Plaza offers 100,000 square feet of shopping, dining and entertainment options. The center hosts a summer music series. The Corona del Mar Plaza is located between MacArthur Boulevard and the Pacific Coast Highway in Newport Beach.

Newport Coast Shopping Center:  The Newport Coast Shopping Plaza offers over 100,000 square foot of shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities in a neighborhood center. The center is home to a 55,000 square foot Pavilions gourmet market which is one of largest supermarkets in the area. The Newport Coast Shopping Center is located at the corner of San Joaquin Hills Road and Newport Coast Drive.

Pelican Hill Resort:

Pelican Hill Resort, Spa and Golf Course: Pelican Hill Resort is a five star resort overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The resort offers a number of dining options and a full service spa. The Tom Fazio designed golf course has two eighteen hole golf courses to choose from.
