Sunset Jazz Supper Club

The Sunset Jazz Supper Club Edition’s second installment will take place on Wednesday, February 19th. Brought to you by the producers of the wildly successful summer Jazz Series, Joe Rothman and John McClure.  There will be five performances in the Sunset Jazz Supper Club Edition. The February performance features Harry Allen with Teka and her New Bossa Trio, featuring Quinn Johnson, Edwin Livingston and Kevin Winard. Performances will be held in the Hook and Spear restaurant at the Newport Beach Marriott. Shows begin at 6pm and continue until 9:30pm. Costa Mesa is part of Orange County.  Costa Mesa is made up of five unique sections: Central Costa Mesa, Eastside Costa Mesa, Mesa Verde, South Coast Metro and Southwest Costa Mesa. Programming at Crystal Cove Conservancy

The Crystal Cove Conservancy and Crystal Cove State Park offers many programs throughout the year in many areas including: art, science, history and nature at the park. During the month of January there will be three different programs running. 

 

Field Science Saturdays: Help park employees by collecting real data about the restoration work in Moro Canyon. The second Saturday of the month, join the conservancy’s education team and participate in ongoing research projects.

 

Historical District Walking Tour: These walks take place on the third Sunday of each month.  Guide Laura Davick, will guide visitors through the historic district and educate you on the history, rescue and future plans for the parks. 

 

Sea Glass Wrapping: Every Wednesday, in the Education Commons, learn about the art of wrapping sea glass.

Pelican Hill is a coastal community in the Newport Coast section of Newport Beach. There are five developments in Pelican Hill: Pelican Crest, Pelican Hill, Pelican Point, Pelican Ridge and Pelican Ridge Estates. Santa Photos at Fashion Island

Santa Photos at Fashion Island will begin on Friday November 22nd and continue through Christmas Eve. Visit Santa in his custom built home on the Atrium Lawn. Both personal and professional photos are available. Share your own photos of Santa and the kids on the Atrium Lawn on Instagram. Santa will be available for pictures Monday through Thursday from 11am to 8pm, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 9pm and Sunday from 11am to 7pm. Fashion Island is located at 401 Newport Center Drive. Lido Isle is a residential island in Newport Bay. 10th Annual Celebrate Leadership Event

The Girl Scouts of Orange County, is having their 10th Annual Celebrate Leadership Event. On Friday, November 8th, the the event will be held at the Fashion Island Hotel, from 6:30pm to 9:00pm. This year there will be new honoree categories, new leadership building activities, a silent auction and a live auction. Honorees are paired with girl scouts, “linking tomorrow’s leaders with leaders of today.” The Fashion Island Hotel is located 690 Newport Center Drive. Costa Mesa is an Orange County city, which is 37 miles south of Los Angeles and 88 miles north of San Diego. The city was incorporated in 1953. 44th Annual Fall Faire and Pumpkin Patch

The 44th Annual Fall Faire and Pumpkin Patch will on Sunday, October 13th.  The Faire and Pumpkin Patch will be open from 10am to 3pm.  Pumpkins in all shapes and sizes will be available for purchase. The pumpkin patch is also the ideal place for family photos. In addition, to pumpkins there will be children’s craft projects, games, face painting and entertainment. There will food and drinks available for purchase, including a booth from the Newport Beach Fire Department.  The event is being held at the Environmental Nature Center, at 1601 East 16th Street. Costa Mesa is an Orange County city which is surrounded by Huntington Beach, Irvine and Newport Beach. Succulent Pumpkin Garden

Roger’s Garden in Corona del Mar, has several events coming up, in addition to their Halloween Boutique. On Saturday, September 28th, they will be hosting a workshop on creating your own pumpkin succulent garden. The Original Designs Team Leader, Onita Castillo, will help you create your own pumpkin centerpiece. The workshop includes step by step instructions, all materials and care instructions. 16th Annual Art in the Park

The 16thAnnual Art in the Park event will return to Newport Beach on Saturday, September 28th. Please make a note that the event is being held on a new date this year. The art show is being held on the Civic Green. Among the artwork for sale will be paper, mixed media, photography, painting, wood, textiles and jewelry. Malice in Wonderland at Roger's Gardens

The Roger’s Gardens Halloween Boutique is opening on August 30th at 9am. This year’s Halloween Boutique theme is Malice in Wonderland. You will encounter the White Rabbit, the Red Queen, and the Mad Hatter. The Halloween Boutique will stay open through October 31stat 6pm. Roger’s Gardens is located in Corona del Mar. Costa Mesa is 16 square mile city, which is made up of five areas; including Central Costa Mesa, Eastside Costa Mesa, Mesa Verde, South Coast Metro and Southwest Costa Mesa. Explore the Bay Family Hike

The Newport Bay Conservancy, in partnership with Orange County parks is hosting an Explore the Bay Family Hike. This hike is designed for all ages. Families will learn about the trails which surround the bay and the bay, itself. This is a one-hour hike, which is an introduction to the bay and will be led by a naturalist. The hike will leave from the patio at the Upper Newport Bay Nature Reserve. The hike will be on both paved and dirt trails. Community Day at Back Bay Science Center

 

The Back Bay Science Center is open to the Public on Sundays from 10am to 2pm for their Community Day. The Back Bay Science Center is not normally open to the public, so this is a great opportunity for the public to learn more about the facility. The science center is located on Shellmaker Island next too Newport Dunes. This facility offers educational programs on estuarine and marine ecology and how these connect to the watershed. One the overall goals of the science center is to help people understand what they can be doing at home to impact the future of the watershed. Community Day is a free event. Costa Mesa is an Orange County city surrounded by Huntington Beach, Irvine and Newport Beach.
