On July 20th, 2014 the 79th Annual Flight of the Lasers will take place. The starting point for the Flight of the Lasers is the Newport Harbor Yacht Club. The Commodore’s Club of the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the event, which is open to sailors of all ages. This is a timed event and boats will judged accordingly. The event begins at 1pm. After the event there will refreshments and an awards ceremony. The awards ceremony will be held at the Newport Harbor Yacht Club. All competitors will receive a commemorative t-shirt. Trophies will be given for the first ten finishers, first girl, first married couple, youngest boy, youngest girl, best costume, first parent child team, best decorated boat, oldest skipper and bravery in the face of danger.
