Potential buyers will start forming opinions about the house, as soon as they pull up to the curb. Help them to create positive opinions. Begin at the front door; create the most inviting entry you can. Clean the area of cobwebs and other debris. Repaint or stain the front door, if necessary. Add a seasonal wreath to the front door.  Replace old door mats with fresh ones, both inside and outside. Finally, add a container of blooming plants to the front porch.
